Payment Methods
The following payment methods are available: domestic bank transfer (Unipay), international bank transfer, credit card, and international postal money order.
1) Domestic bank transfer
Uni-pay is a payment system designed for language students, that allows you to make a local bank payment in your own country or a nearby country, greatly reducing the transfer fees compared to international bank transfers. Exchange rates are based on HSBC's rates. We recommend this service in most cases, as it is usually the cheapest. There is a 1015 yen/$10 service charge. To pay using Uni-Pay, visit the UniPay site, register to pay with them, then make a transfer to the bank account details you are shown. Make sure that the total matches the total on the invoice you received from us!
For a list of the countries which Uni-pay has accounts in, click here. Note that even if Uni-pay doesn't have an account in your home country, they may have an account in a nearby country that you can use instead.
For people living in Japan, a "furikomi" (bank transfer) costs about 300 yen.
Bank details (transfers within Japan):
Bank: The Bank of Fukuoka, Ltd., Main branch
(福岡銀行 本店)
Account type: Futsuu / 普通
Account number: 5939001
Account name: 株式会社Genki Global (if sending from an ATM enter "カ)ゲンキグローバル")
2) Credit card
Unipay accepts credit card payments, with fees as follows:
VISA, Mastercard:
1015 yen/$10 service charge + 2% fee
American Express: 1015 yen/$10 service charge +4% fee
To pay using Uni-Pay, visit the UniPay site, register your details, then enter your credit card information. Make sure that the total matches the total on the invoice you received from us!
Note that payment can also be made by credit card through Paypal, but the fee is higher: 3.4% to 3.9% of the total fee.
3) International bank transfer
You can transfer funds directly from your bank in your home country to our bank in Japan. In this case, bank transfer fees are usually levied in both the source and destination countries, with the total varying, but often around 5000-6500 yen. It generally takes funds about 3-5 days to arrive. Remember to specify that you want to pay transaction fees separately from the sum total to transfer.
Bank details (overseas transfers):
Bank: The Bank of Fukuoka, Ltd., Main branch
Swift Code: FKBKJPJT (Note: IBAN numbers are not used in Japan.)
Account Number: 5939001
Account Name: Genki Global
School Address: Daimyo 2-9-5-2F, Chuuouku, Fukuoka, 810-0041, Japan
Bank Address: Tenjin 2-13-1, Chuuouku, Fukuoka City, 810-8727, Japan
4) Paypal
Payment can be made directly using Paypal, with a
3.4%-3.9% service fee added. This is the fastest payment method, but the fee can become quite large for large transfers. If the total transfer is more than about 150,000 yen, an international bank transfer would probably be cheaper, and Unipay is almost always cheaper.
For Paypal transfers, we will send an invoice to your email address through the Paypal system.
5) Postal order
An international postal order/money order can be purchased and sent
to us by registered mail for cashing, in countries that support this method. The fee is generally very small, but
it can take
up to two weeks to arrive.
To send a postal money order, make it payable to "Genki Global", at the school's address.
Except for Unipay, all payments must be made in Japanese yen.
