Also known as Girl's Day or Doll's day, special dolls representing the royal family and court attendees are displayed on a red carpet, wishing girls' healthy growth and happiness. Traditional hinamatsuri foods are chirashizushi, sugar-flavored sushi rice vinegar with raw fish on top and a variety of other ingredients; clam soup served in the shell; and sakura-mochi, a pink, sweet rice cake.

Held every year in July. A huge parade held over several days featuring giant floats in the shape of a snake, and thousands of dancers participating in a traditional dance. There is also a fireworks display during the festival.
